Disney's "Lizzie McGuire" Reboot Is What Our Dreams Are Made Of!

Lost in the shuffle among all the announcements for the latest Star Wars series/movie/theme park at D23 over the weekend was the piece of news that one of our most beloved Disney shows is getting a reboot! Our girl is back … and so is her animated alter ego! She will be there to give us all the hottest gossip! Thank you, Disney, for bringing back “Lizzie McGuire”. My inner teenage girl is SCREAMING right now.

Isn’t this exciting?! I absolutely loved this show as a teen. Hilary Duff is so cute and I think every little girl watching at the time wished they were her… even when her life got crazy at times. Her animated alter ego was also adorable! I always thought of my alter ego as a cartoon character after watching this show every day… didn’t you? I even had her poster hung up in my room. Well, good news is, Hilary Duff will still be starring once again as Lizzie. She shared the big news with us on her Instagram.

If Hilary couldn’t contain her excitement, imagine all of us when we heard the big news! I am definitely bringing back my butterfly clips and voting for Lizzie 2020. I cannot wait.

The show will premiere exclusively on Disney+. I guess I’ll need to add this streaming subscription to my list of bills. It’s definitely worth it, though. The show will follow Lizzie, now 30, doing life in the Big Apple. Apparently, Lizzie is now living her dream as an apprentice to an interior designer. Oooooh, sounds nice, right? I wonder how that’ll play out. I can’t wait to hear everything Lizzie’s alter ego has to say about all of this. The girl holds absolutely nothing back. And… guess what? Her alter ego is still 13!! I don’t know how this can get any better.

I guess we will have to wait for more surprises, but I really want to know if Gordo is back. That was my favorite romance growing up. I can’t wait for you to be back either, Lizzie!

Though we don’t have much information yet, we do have enough to make us jump out of our seats with excitement. Ugh, YES, this is what dreams are really made of! Well, this is Maryssa, and you’re reading The Scene.
