Disney Drops a First Look At 'Frozen II'!

Written by Katie Marzullo. Published: February 13 2019

We haven’t been able to “let it go” for 6 years, and luckily for us, neither has Disney!

Just in time for Galentine’s Day, Disney has gifted us with a first look at the sequel to the ultimate story of sisterly love, Frozen, with a teaser for Frozen II!

As I’m sure you’ll remember, the first movie ended with Queen Elsa of Arendelle learning to control her powers and ending the perma-winter in her kingdom after her sister Anna’s “act of true love” saves her life. At the beginning of the teaser for Frozen II, it appears that Elsa is continuing to push the limits of her powers as she attempts to literally cross an ocean.

No plot details are available at this point, and the teaser doesn’t really tell us much either. What we do know is that Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad are all back as Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf, respectively, and are joined this go-around by Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown in as-yet unspecified roles. In 2017, Bell revealed that the producers and directors had taken a sojourn to Norway (where Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Snow Queen”, on which Frozen was based, originates) in order to draw inspiration, and judging just by the music that accompanies the teaser, it looks like the new movie indeed will include a lot more Scandinavian influences. (Incidentally, that music could actually be a taste of this movie's next big smash hit à la "Let It Go"...)

Here’s hoping we get some more info before the November 22 release date!
