Connor Zwetsch: An "American Idol" in the Making
We’ve had this girl on our radar for quite some time, and we were thrilled to see her pop up on our TV screen this week! Her name is Connor Zwetsch, and she is a free-spirited singer/songwriter from Tampa, Florida. Donning a totally psychedelic bucket hat and then a bandana with her laid back look, Connor appeared on "American Idol" last night, and her audition totally rocked our world!
She captured our attention with her unique vibe, one that we’ve heard through her various covers and now her new single! The 21-year-old's first single, “For Michelle", debuted last month, and we can’t get enough of it! Though we’ve heard her say that her voice may not be powerful on the volume scale, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a powerful impact… because it DEFINITELY DOES! Connor has a soft, earthy feel to her voice, one that is capable of both sweet melodies and grungy riffs. Needless to say, her voice has soul, and we’re totally digging it!
Connor has found musical inspiration from artists such as Rob Thomas and Matchbox 20, Alanis Morrissette, Third Eye Blind, and Bob Dylan. And we can absolutely see where those influences come into play on her sound and music. Listening to her and her guitar reminds us of music by artists Sara Bareilles and KT Tunstall, with an edgy yet soothing blend to it.
Connor’s passion is writing and playing music, and we are 100% passionate about her unique sound! Follow her on Facebook and Twitter, and listen to more of her work on her personal site! Trust us, you’ll get hooked too.
We are rooting for you big time, Connor! Go get ‘em! #TeamZwetsch
