Bill & Ted Have Daughters, Dude!

Written by Katie Marzullo. Published: June 06 2019

Back in March, the legends of San Dimas themselves, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, were finally returning to their Wyld Stallyns roots for a second sequel to the iconic 1988 time-travel movie Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, and fans everywhere collectively gave an air-guitar salute!

Ever since that announcement, though, updates have been slow to trickle in, making me, for one, nervous as to whether or not this was really, truly happening. But this week, we finally got come news that proves this film is well under way!

It has been reported that Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving have been cast as the grown-up daughters of Ted and Bill, respectively. If you’re a fan of the Netflix series“Atypical”, then you’ll likely recognize Lundy-Paine, who will be playing Ted’s daughter Billie Logan. As for Ms. Weaving, you’ve seen her in projects like Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Showtime’s “SMILF”, and Charlie Puth’s “Attention” music video. She will play Bill’s daughter, Thea Preston. Yes, that’s right, both Bill and Ted named their daughter after their BFF. Awww…

The question on everyone’s (or at least my) mind is: Are their mothers the Historical Babes that Bill & Ted met in Medieval England whom Rufus brought to the future to go to Prom with the boys (and join their band)?

Either way, it will be super fun and exciting to see this next generation of presumed SoCal time-travelers get a female touch. I’m very curious to see the dynamic between the now-middle-aged man-boys and their adult daughters. Are they musicians too like their old mans? Do they have a part to play in their fathers’ destiny to save the world? Yeah, probably, otherwise what’s the point, right?

Anyway, Bill & Ted Face the Music is set to start filming this Summer and slated to hit theatres on August 21, 2020. Until then, be excellent to each other!
