1. Brady’s Ladies
His name is in the title, so it would be a little disappointing if he wasn’t in the movie. Besides the highlight reels and the Super Bowl performance, Tom Brady is given another way to shine. Tom comes alive in the paraphernalia Lou, Lily Tomlin’s character, keeps around. He gives words of encouragement and motivation in these strange apparitions. He is the power that allows her to take charge of her own destiny.
2. Guy Fieri’s Hot Wing Contest
When the ladies arrive in Huston for the Super Bowl, an influx of Super Bowl-related activities awaits them. At the Super Bowl, Betty (played by Sally Field) enters into a hot wing contest hosted by none other than Guy Fieri. The contest puts the ladies in more trouble when Betty forgets the bag holding the tickets. The four of them have to spend the night looking for Fieri at an elegant celebrity party. In the end, all is well, and Guy makes more than just one appearance. Later, at a party, a batch of strong gummy bear edibles has Moreno’s Maura seeing everyone as Guy!
3. The Celebrity Poker Game
To find Guy at the party, the 4 friends split up. This is when Maura finds herself involved in a game of celebrity poker with Patton Oswalt, Marshawn Lynch, and Billy Porter. During the poker game, Maura hustles all of them, eventually gardening some beef with Brisket, played by Patton Oswalt. Maura hits it big, thinking she has won enough money to buy 4 Super Bowl tickets, when she quickly comes to realize the money goes to charity.
4. Kicking the Ladies to the Curb
Going through the metal detectors, the women believe they have finally made it -- until they realize their tickets are fakes! From this point on, the only thing keeping them in is the security guard, played by comedian Ron Funches. To him, they are just another set of crazed fans who will do anything to get in. In the end, he is right, as they find several ways in before being kicked out again.
5. Billy Porter’s Dance Number
The last ditch effort the ladies use to get in comes when they spot the choreographer for the Halftime Show, who, thankfully, Maura already knows him from the night before. It’s Billy Porter! To show that they are supposed to be performers, they have to perform a small dance number. When they do, it is enough to get them through the doors.
6. The Locker Room with the Pats
In the end, these 4 friends are caught by Ron Funches again. They think they are going to be thrown but instead get taken to the locker room! Inside, an entire Patriots team waits. Rob Gronkowski gets to blush over Jane Fonda’s character, Maura plays with Julian Edelman’s beard, and Betty loves talking about the statistics of the game with Danny Amendola! Their happy ending comes true and their friendship grows stronger as they rely on each other.
