Barrymore & Sandler to Team Up for 3rd Rom-Com!

Perhaps it makes me a traitor to my gender to say this, but… I am not a fan of romantic comedies. I can’t really explain why; I guess they are just too schmaltzy and unrealistic for me. There are, however, a very small handful of rom-coms I do enjoy very much, and I can name them for you now: The Wedding Singer, The Wedding Planner, 50 First Dates, and Fever Pitch.

And yes, I am well aware that three of those four movies star Drew Barrymore, and two of those co-star Adam Sandler. So, apparently, the formula for attracting my attention is simple: Drew Barrymore + Adam Sandler = Rom-Com Gold. (Sorry, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan!)

Colored me charmed, then, at the news that this delightful pair will be teaming up once more for their third go-around! According to early reports, the film will see the pair play a couple of single parents who go on an initial awful first date only to end up thrown together at a family resort where hijinks and, eventually, love will ensue. Already got my tickets!

And goodness knows that Sandler could use a hit, his last few features not exactly wowing audiences. Can Ms. Barrymore re-ignite that old spark and parlay it into box office success? Stay tuned!
