ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Normani

I know you’ve heard all the buzz about Normani’s visuals for her new single, “Motivation”, but have you seen what all the buzz is about? If you haven’t, sis, you NEED to! 

Ok well damn. Now I need to cool down after watching that video. Who even is this chick, because she is on fire!

Believe it or not but, Normani Kordei Hamilton is only 23 years old! She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but grew up in New Orleans. She is known for being one of the members of Fifth Harmony. She was also a finalist on “Dancing with the Stars”. We just watched her new music video so we already know the woman can dance.

Normani also has songs with other huge artists. She’s collaborated with artists such as Sam Smith, Quavo, 6LACK, Calvin Harris, and Khalid. Her single, “Love Lies” feat. Khalid, peaked at Number 6 on the Billboard charts and was featured in the film Love, Simon.

It’s no secret that this woman is making her way to the top. Her latest single, “Motivation”, is a hit. Forbes even commented that it “sounds like a perfectly-crafted pop song… catchy, summery and fun.” Girl, I would even say this song has the potential to be a Summer anthem. What else would we expect, though? The song was co-written by the queen herself, Ariana Grande!  

Oh, and the video is SHEESH! Words can’t even begin to describe the video. The girl put in that work! I know we already watched the video earlier, but it deserves more praise and a more in-depth analysis. The girl threw it back to the '90s and we were all here for it. Do your thang, girl! She paired a white torn crop-top with some low-rise jeans, giving us déjà vu of Beyoncé back when she did her video for “Crazy In Love”. And woooh, I am crazy in love with this video. She also serves us some Britney Spears, J. Lo, and Aaliyah vibes with her many dance moves. She even got praise from celebrities who couldn’t help but to take to social media to commend the video.
