A sequel to the beloved Disney movie Enchanted has been announced! According to the Walt Disney Company, the new film, titledDisenchanted, "will stream exclusively on Disney+.Amy Adams returns as Giselle, who found her life flipped upside down when she fell out of her animated fantasy world and discovered herself stuck in real-life Manhattan.”

So what do we know so far about the new film? Well, on top of Adams returning, composer Alan Menken will be as well and confirmed during a JLGB Virtual livestream that James Marsden and Idina Menzel will be coming back as Prince Edward and Nancy, respectively. But that’s not all -- Patrick Dempsey will also return! He confirmed in an interview with Variety that he is not only going to be part of the sequel, but “I will be singing for the first time. I’ve never ever sung publicly — for a reason. So bear with me. I hope the fans embrace it. But they’ve set me up for success and the lyrics are really fun. The numbers have really great choreography. And the premise is going to be interesting.”

So why did it take forever to do a sequel? Dempsey answered that as well. “No one could agree on the script. It’s such an important film for them and it’s a satire. It’s not a typical Disney movie. It’s kind of off-brand a little bit. Yet we give honor to all of those Disney movies that have come before and they finally now have figured it out.”

Let’s get into the even bigger news: three incredibly talented actresses will be joining the film as villains! That’s right, Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, andJayma Mays are all on board. Rudolph is set to play the central villain in the sequel while Brown and Mays are potentially portraying evil characters as well.

The film will no doubt be an even bigger hit than the first one and I cannot wait to see what Disenchanted has in store!
