Shortly after his AMAZING Teen Choice Award performance of “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, Charlie Puth has now released the much-anticipated music video. The track, featuring Selena Gomez, is off his debut album Nine Track Mind and became an instant radio hit, and the music video has already garnered over 2 MILLION VIEWS after just one day!
Here are 3 reasons why the video is TOTALLY relatable!
1. Perspective
The Puthinator has done it again! His video has set the scene with two different perspectives -- his own and the lucky lady. It looks like the two are set in NYC and literally “don’t talk anymore”. It’s the ultimate outlook on what happens in daily life for two people who end a relationship. The side-by-side screens create just enough curiosity to know what each are doing when not with each other, very clever!
2. 21st Century Phone Problems
Texting, texting, texting… this video perfectly depicts how the struggle is real with texting. You are in a constant battle of "to text or not to text?" and it doesn’t help with those dreaded 3 pending dots that will haunt your dreams. We also now have every possible event documented with a past love from an endless photo stream living on our phone – oh boy!
3. Sleepless Nights & Early Mornings
The two are shown having early mornings and sleepless nights. This definitely goes hand in hand with phone problems. You see things pop up on social media that make you wonder what they are doing. #AlwaysTired
We feel ya, Charlie, we feel ya...
