This is exactly the case for Elaine when she loses the respect of all her co-workers when she dances horribly at a company party. Not knowing she sucks at dancing, she blames this lack of respect on George’s presence at the party, which prompts her to tell everyone to stay away from him, which only makes him more attractive for some.
