Zoolander 2 stars turn red carpet into runway for New York premiere
Zoolander 2 stars Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Penelope Cruz turned the New York City premiere of their comedy into a high-fashion runway show on Tuesday night (09Feb16).
The much-anticipated sequel to the style-centred film had its U.S. debut at the Lincoln Center, which is appropriately the former home of New York Fashion Week.
And two days before the annual event kicks off, Stiller, Wilson and
Cruz dressed in character as models Derek Zoolander and Hansel, and
Interpol officer Melanie Valentina, respectively to turn the red
carpet into a faux runway.
Will Ferrell, who plays Zoolander's rival Jacobim Mugatu also
strutted down the catwalk, along with actor and screenwriter Justin
Theroux, who was barely recognisable as the Evil DJ, and even took
over for DJ Skrillex at the turntables.
In addition to the actors in character, they were joined on the
runway by real-life models Gigi Hadid and Stella Maxwell, who both
donned new looks by designer Marc Jacobs.
Zoolander 2, which also features cameos from Justin Bieber,
American Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, and models Karlie
Kloss and Cara Delevingne, hits cinemas on Friday (12Feb16).
