Zayn Malik has asked fans to help his mother’s best friend as she battles lung cancer.

The Pillowtalk singer took to his Twitter to share Ayesha Daniels' GoFundMe page, in a bid to help his family friend raise vital funds for life-saving treatment.

He told his fans: “This is my Moms best friend Please help in any way possible (sic)” and added the praying hands emoji.

The former One Direction star is known for his loyal fan base, and his followers sprung into action after the post, with 25,000 Twitter users sharing the message.

At the time WENN went to press, Ayesha had so far raised $17, 329 of the $155,000 she needs to receive treatment at the ChemoThermia center in Istanbul, Turkey.

Ayesha describes on her charity page that the facility treats patients with stage four cancer, like herself, and that in a recent study it was found that 82 per cent of patients had survived for three and a half years.

She adds: “If for some reason my treatment fails to work, and I still have outstanding monies in the fund, this will certainly be passed on to somebody else that is in my situation and this will allow to give them a chance at having a better life.”

Zayn, who was spotted being pushed in a wheelchair following a foot injury on Saturday (29Apr17), lost his five-year-old cousin Arshiya Malik to a brain tumor in March (17).
