Zayn Malik buys mother her dream house

One Direction star Zayn Malik moved his mother to tears when he bought her a new luxury home in his native Bradford, north England.

The singer has amassed a $7.75 million fortune since the band formed on Britain's The X Factor in 2010, and he used some of his wealth to treat his family to a new house.

The touching moment was captured for One Direction's upcoming film This Is Us, in which Malik's proud mother Trisha is seen picking up the keys to the property and bursting into tears as she thanks her son for the extravagant gift.

Speaking to the pop star on the phone, she says, "I know that you always used to say, 'I'll get you a house one day when I'm older'. But thank you for what you've done for us. I'm so proud of you."

The singer replies, "Well, get off the phone then before I start crying."
