Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid 'could break up at any time'

Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid are back on, but friends reportedly think it could be off again at any time.

The Pillowtalk singer and model Gigi got serious relatively quickly when they began seeing each other in November 2015. Both hadn’t been single for long, with Gigi breaking up with Joe Jonas and Zayn ending his engagement to Little Mix star Perrie Edwards just three months before.

Their closeness led many to expect the romance to last, but last week (ends03Jun16) news broke that the couple had split. Zayn and Gigi are allegedly back together now, but pals are unsure if the union will last.

“They broke up and got back together almost right away,” an insider told Us Weekly. “Right now it’s back on, but it could be off again in an hour.”

Zayn, 23, has seen his solo career soar since quitting British boy group One Direction in March 2015, and 21-year-old Gigi is one of the fashion world’s most in demand faces. While they have a lot of shared interests, the friend says it’s their age which is impacting the romance.

“They are young and keep going back and forth,” they said. “Things are testy between them.”

However a second source explains the two have completely different personalities, which led the breakdown of the relationship.

“He wants to stay home and hang out, but she loves the limelight,” insider number two divulged. “She loves attention and he hates it. An introvert and an extrovert; we all saw it coming.”

Neither have addressed the split rumors, though Gigi’s father Mohamed Hadid did pass comment on Monday (06Jun16) to TMZ.com saying, “What... I didn't even know there was a break up. I've not met Zayn but I've heard he's a very, very nice guy. I wasn't even aware there was a break up. I had breakfast with her this morning. I don't think there's anything going on.”
