Zac Efron auctioning off first car for charity

Actor Zac Efron is auctioning off one of his prized possessions by giving fans a chance to win his very first car.

The Hairspray actor launched a contest on Prizeo.com on Monday (11Aug14) to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening diseases.

Fans who donate anything over $10 to the cause will be entered into a draw to fly out to Los Angeles to meet Efron and if the winner decides he or she likes the silver 1999 Oldsmobile Alero, they can take the vehicle home as well.

In a video posted on the Prizeo.com site, Efron explains how meaningful the car is to him, saying, "This is the car I learned everything in - I learned how to drive in (it), I got my first driver's license in, I got into my first car accident in - which was not my fault, for the record."

The Alero was reportedly gifted to Efron by his grandfather, who also gave him an orange-red 1965 Mustang and a silver DeLorean, which he restored.
