Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick lead cast for charity TV special
Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick lead the actors set to appear in the Red Nose Day fundraising telethon on 26 May (16).
The charity TV special, which has been a staple in the U.K. since the 1980s, launched in America last year (15) and is set to return for its second year with the likes of Zac, Anna and their Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates co-star Adam DeVine.
Anna and Adam star in a promo for the special in which they are
playing with the trademark plastic red noses and listing what
viewers can expect from the show.
"Red nose day - well there's red noses, wear them, hold
them....(there is) comedy, charity, laughter, kids..." Anna
says.
It is not known if they will be appearing during the live two-hour
broadcast, in a pre-recorded comedy sketch, or a short film
highlighting poverty around the world and the work the Comic Relief
charity does.
Former talk show star Craig Ferguson will host the broadcast and
will be joined by stars including Kristen Bell, Julianne Moore,
Paul Rudd, and Jack Black.
Other celebrity faces set for the special include Emma Watson,
Tracy Morgan, Ludacris, Ellie Kemper, Emma Thompson and Zac's
Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising stars Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne and
Chloe Grace Moretz.
Helen Mirren was also revealed to be another star guest via the Red
Nose Day US Twitter account. A picture of the actress wearing the
red nose was posted with the caption, "(look) at Dame Helen Mirren
rockin’ that (red nose emoji)."
Seth Meyers hosted the inaugural U.S. telethon in 2015, and it
raised more than $23 million. The 2016 show will be broadcast live
on NBC.
