Woody Allen is set to be honored for his career achievements with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards.
The Vicky Cristina Barcelona filmmaker will follow in the footsteps of previous recipients, including Jodie Foster, Morgan Freeman, Steven Spielberg and Robert De Niro, when he picks up the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) prize in January (14).
A statement issued by HFPA president Theo Kingma reads, "There is
no one more worthy of this award than Woody Allen. His
contributions to filmmaking have been phenomenal and he truly is an
international treasure."
A tribute to Allen will be included in the next Golden Globes
ceremony, which takes place on 12 January (14).
