Woman cleared of attacking Tara Reid

A woman accused of smashing a glass in actress Tara Reid's face during a night out in London has been cleared.

Former model Maryam Hassan was accused of attacking the American Pie star while she was celebrating her birthday at the Beat club in November, 2012.

Reid was admitted to hospital with cuts and bruises, facial injuries and a corneal abrasion after the incident.

Hassan was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm but was found not guilty at Southwark Crown Court in London on Thursday (12Dec13).

The 27 year old was also cleared of racially abusing a security guard on the same night.

During the trial, in a statement read out in court, Reid revealed she feared she had been left blind after the incident.
