Will Smith developing New Year's Eve TV spectacular in Miami - report

Will Smith is set to follow in the footsteps of rapper Pitbull by launching a New Year's Eve television special in Miami, Florida, according to a report.

The Men in Black star is reportedly developing a show similar to the traditional Times Square event in New York, New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, and would like to team up with David Beckham for the venture.

A source tells the New York Post, "As of now, it's being shopped to the networks. It would feature musical performances, possibly one by Will."

Another source adds, "They want to do something with Beckham and his focus on his Miami soccer team."

Meanwhile, Pitbull's New Year's Revolution will take place in Miami this year (14).
