A female airline employee accused of leaking flight information for stars including Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow and Daniel Radcliffe has resigned.

The unnamed Virgin Atlantic worker was said to have passed information about 68 A-listers' travel plans to the Big Pictures Photo agency in London.

The accused staff member, a junior employee assigned with looking after high-profile clients, has denied the allegations but she left her post on Thursday (05Apr12).

Other stars said to have been affected by the scandal include funnyman Russell Brand, British royal Princess Beatrice, Nicole Scherzinger, and actresses Charlize Theron, Kate Winslet and Scarlett Johansson, among others.

A statement from Sir Richard Branson's company confirms an inquiry has been launched into the "extremely serious" allegations.
