Vin Diesel teases Guardians of the Galaxy Groot spin-off
Vin Diesel has teased fans about a possible Guardians Of The Galaxy spin-off movie focusing on the characters played by the actor and his co-star Bradley Cooper.
The Furious 7 star portrays tree monster Groot in the 2014 comic book adaptation and its upcoming sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, alongside Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Cooper as Rocket Raccoon.
Diesel has already previously revealed he and his Guardians
castmates will be making an appearance in the forthcoming Avengers:
Infinity War, and now the action man is hoping to have Groot go up
against The Hulk in a separate project - if filmmaker James Gunn
gets his way.
"I think if it's up to James Gunn, you are going to see a Groot and
Rocket movie after Infinity War," Diesel told Screen Junkies at
Brazil's Comic Con Experience over the weekend (03-04Dec16). "I
think that's highly possible. We shall see. I know that, somewhere
in the universe, you are going to see Groot and Hulk battle. You
can write it somewhere. You are going to see that poster: Hulk vs.
Groot."
Mark Ruffalo portrays The Hulk in the Marvel Avengers movies, and
will return to co-star in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War with Robert
Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and
Jeremy Renner. Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch, and new
Captain Marvel Brie Larson will also appear in the star-studded
blockbuster.
Director Gunn has yet to comment on Diesel's remarks, but the actor
is becoming known for leaking plans for the Guardians
franchise.
In August (16), he confirmed he and his Guardians pals would be
involved in the crossover Avengers film.
"Now, the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and
that's incredibly exciting," he announced in a Facebook Live chat
with fans. "You were told before everybody."
