Victoria Beckham designing Eva Longoria's wedding dress

Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham is creating a wedding dress for her actress pal Eva Longoria, according to a U.K. report.

The former Desperate Housewives star is set to walk down the aisle next year (16) when she marries Mexican TV boss Jose Antonio Baston, who proposed in December (15).

Eva had reportedly lined up her good friend Victoria to design the gown even before the proposal, and the former Spice Girls star is said to be working on a lavish silk dress for the actress.

"(Victoria) is keen to expand the wedding dress side of the business, so it's a dream come true for her to land this gig," a source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper. "She knew she was doing it before Jose even proposed... Eva's wedding photos will be seen all over the world, so it'll be perfect publicity... She's hoping it will spark a stampede for her wedding gowns. She won't charge though. Eva's a friend - and it's not like she needs the money."

Victoria and Eva have been close friends since they met in 2007 after the Brit and her family relocated to Los Angeles so her husband David could play soccer for the LA Galaxy team.

Eva and Jose became engaged during a trip to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The actress has previously been married to soap actor Tyler Christopher and French basketball star Tony Parker.
