Usher sued over 2004's Caught Up

Written by . Published: November 09 2013

R&B star Usher is facing legal action over allegations his hit 2004 single Caught Up was stolen from another composition.

Zacharia Edwards, Mitch Moses and Vince McClean claim they wrote a track with the same title in 2002 and played it for a top Arista Records representative, who took the tune to label boss Antonio 'L.A.' Reid.

They never heard from the executive again, but were stunned two years later when they heard Usher - who is signed to Arista - belting out the track on the radio.

The Yeah! hitmaker's song is credited to songwriter Ryan Toby and producers Andre Harris and Vidal Davis.

The plaintiffs are demanding unspecified damages, reports TMZ.com.
