Tyga: 'Kylie Jenner romance overshadowed my career'
Rapper Tyga felt professionally stalled by his romance with Kylie Jenner.
The 26-year-old Rack City hitmaker ended his relationship with the 18-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star in May (16) after the pair dated on-and-off for two years.
And in a new radio interview with Big Boy TV, Tyga confesses their
love affair proved to be detrimental to his career.
"Being in a very public relationship like that, it's hard for other
people to see you differently," he noted. "It overshadowed a lot of
my talents and a lot of things I worked hard for."
Since splitting from Kylie, Tyga, real name Micheal Ray Stevenson,
has been romantically linked to lingerie model Demi Rose, who seems
to be the spitting image of his ex-girlfriend.
But the hip hop star denies he's moved on to another relationship
already, claiming he's happy being a bachelor at the moment.
"I'm single. I'm enjoying life," the musician said before hinting
he and Kylie may give their romance another try in the future.
"Later on in life, maybe we (Kylie and I) might come back, but
right now I want to focus on what I need to do."
However, it appears Kylie is currently preoccupied with a new love
interest, as she and rapper PartyNextDoor have been cosying up of
late, sharing their public displays of affection with fans on
social media.
Meanwhile, Tyga is dealing with other matters of the heart in
connection with the Kardashian family, as his former fiancee Blac
Chyna, who he shares three-year-old son King Cairo with, is
carrying her first child with current fiance Rob Kardashian,
Kylie's older half-brother.
Although members of the public are convinced he is fuming over Blac
Chyna's relationship with Rob, Tyga continues to support his
ex.
"People gotta let her (Blac Chyna) move on," he stressed. "It's not
my life anymore. When you're not with that person, whatever that
person does after you—that's their life and that's their decision.
That's their bed. They gotta lay in (it)."
