Tina Fey and Amy Poehler take aim at James Franco and James Cameron
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler won over fans as co-hosts of the 2013 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (13Jan13) after taking jabs at James Franco and James Cameron in their opening monologue.
Amy Poehler got the 70th annual awards ceremony off to a rousing start by poking fun at the controversy surrounding the torture scenes in director Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty, about the decade-long manhunt for Osama bin Laden.
She quipped, "Kathryn Bigelow's nominated tonight. I haven't really
been following the controversy over Zero Dark Thirty, but when it
comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to
James Cameron."
Fey followed up the joke by referencing Anne Hathaway's
much-maligned co-hosting gig with James Franco at the 2011
Oscars.
She said, "Anne Hathaway, you gave a stunning performance in Les
Miserables. I have not seen someone so totally alone and abandoned
like that since you were onstage with James Franco at the
Oscars."
Stars watching the ceremony from home took to Twitter.com to share
their reactions - actress Jamie Lynn Sigler tweeted, "Amy and Tina
are killing it! I wish they stayed on stage the whole show," and
Krysten Ritter added, "Can they host everything always? My freaking
idols".
