Tiesto designing DJ booth at new Las Vegas club

Tiesto will be more than a performer at Las Vegas' hot new restaurant/club Hakkasan - he has also been involved in the menu and the design.

The Dutch star recently announced a 20-month residency at the MGM Grand resort, which includes a string of shows at Sin City's hottest new club - and he has designed the DJ booth for the venue.

The gigs mark Tiesto's latest collaboration with Hakkasan boss Neil Moffitt, who gave the DJ his big break in Ibiza in the late 1990s.

Opening up about his new challenge, Tiesto tells MLife magazine, "I've loved Las Vegas since the first time I came here... It's so beautiful. I always wanted to be a resident here, but I've never had the opportunity to do it right because dance music wasn't big enough."

Neil Moffitt gave his DJ pal free range to create his area of the club and the sound and lighting for his upcoming Club Life shows - and Tiesto will also be responsible for bringing his dance music peers to the venue.

He says, "The Club Life mix is all about what my vision is of a club. It's not necessarily just about me, but musically, vibe wise, what I think the club lifestyle should be about."

Tiesto will be joined during his residency by fellow top DJs Deadmau5 and Calvin Harris, who has committed to 46 dates at Hakkasan.
