The Saturdays reality TV show axed

The Saturdays' dreams of building up a TV following have been quashed after bosses decided against picking up a second series of the singers' reality show.

The British-Irish girl group invited a camera crew to record their mission to find fame across the Atlantic last year (12), and the series, Chasing The Saturdays, premiered on E! in January (13).

But the five-piece, Una Healy, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford and Vanessa White, failed to attract viewers due to the lack of "drama" on the show and it was pulled by executives after figures slumped to 100,000.

A source tells Britain's The Sun, "It got killed in the ratings. U.S. fans like drama and conflict but The Saturdays actually liked each other."

A spokesperson for the band said they are in talks for a Christmas special, according to the publication.

Incidentally, fellow U.K. pop band, The Wanted, are debuting their own reality TV show, The Wanted Life, on the same network next month (Jun13).
