The Muppets receive Hollywood Walk of Fame honour
The Muppets have been honoured with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and several other characters from the hugely successful film and TV series were at the ceremony on Tuesday (20Mar12) to mark the occasion, and the green frog puppet thanked fans for their support.
He said, "Hi everyone. Thank you for coming. I want to say on
behalf of the Muppets that we are just really happy to be here on
Hollywood Boulevard joining some of the greatest names in
showbiz."
The mischievous puppets first appeared on TV in the 1950s, and last
year's (11) hit film The Muppets showed they are still a draw at
the box office.
They are the 2,466th recipient of a Walk of Fame star and they were
joined by Lisa and Brian Henson - the daughter and son of The
Muppets legendary creator Jim Henson.
Lisa Henson said, "As the Muppets once sang, 'Look at us. Here we
are. Right where we belong,' and yes they do belong thanks to the
lovers and dreamers and you the fans."
