The Lego Movie crushes competition to top North American box office

Computer animated adventure The Lego Movie has reached new heights at the North American box office after opening with a massive $69.1 million.
The star-studded adventure comedy, featuring the voices of Chris Pratt, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett and Elizabeth Banks, towered over its closest competitor, The Monuments Men, to score the biggest debut of the year (14) so far.
George Clooney's World War Two drama entered at number two with
$22.7 million, with Ice Cube comedy Ride Along in third place with
$9.4 million in its fourth weekend on release.
Meanwhile, Frozen added another $6.9 million to its North American
take, boosting its total to a stunning $368.8 million and helping
its global haul sail past the $900 million mark.
