The Craft reboot in the works

Sony Pictures bosses are developing a remake of cult horror film The Craft.

Up-and-coming filmmaker Leigh Janiak has been tapped by studio executives to write and direct the new version, which comes nearly 20 years after the 1996 supernatural teen thriller.

Original producer Doug Wick will also be on board for the new movie.

The Craft starred Neve Campbell, Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk and Rachel True as a coven of high-school witches whose lives fall apart as they begin dealing with dark magic.

The Craft was considered a sleeper hit and even spawned a musical adaptation in 2013.
