Taylor Swift urges fans to vote with polling station selfie
Taylor Swift got out to vote early on Tuesday (08Nov16) and encouraged fans to follow her lead.
The pop star posted a photo of herself waiting in line outside a polling station on Instagram, and urged her 92.9 million followers to make sure their presidential vote counted.
She captioned the snap: "Today is the day. Go out and VOTE".
Taylor's post came hours after she threw a 20th birthday party for
pal Lorde in New York on Monday night (07Nov16).
The Royals singer, real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, documented the
celebrations on her Instagram page, revealing the Shake It Off star
organized the bash.
Alongside a snap of Taylor and model Karlie Kloss kissing her on
each cheek, Lorde wrote: "Had the best birthday party i've (sic)
ever had tonight surrounded by my nyc family. all organized by tay
(Swift) who is as she says 'a mom with no kids'. i am ur (sic) kid
and u love me so hard i could burst. here's to our 3 magic years of
best friendship and more moments like this squished between
angels."
Meanwhile, Swift was celebrating a return to the country charts top
10 as she cast her vote for a new leader - Better Man, the hit song
she wrote for Little Big Town, has shot up the countdown from 20 to
number six.
The four-piece, who last week (02Nov16) won the Group of the Year
trophy at the Country Music Association Awards in Tennessee,
revealed the identity of the woman behind their new song on the eve
of the prizegiving, where they performed the track.
Better Man is Swift's 20th Hot Country Songs top 10 hit as a
writer. She performed all the other songs except Best Days of Your
Life, which was recorded by Kellie Pickler in 2009.
