Taylor Swift meets with fan suffering from hearing loss
Taylor Swift granted the wish of a young fan suffering from hearing loss by meeting with her in Australia over the weekend (ends29Nov15).
The Wildest Dreams singer is currently Down Under as part of her 1989 World Tour, and during her stop in Sydney on Saturday (28Nov15), Taylor came face-to-face with 12-year-old Jorja Hope, who was diagnosed with a condition that causes progressive inner-ear hearing loss.
According to local newspaper the Maitland Mercury, Jorja's first
concern upon receiving the life-changing news was that she wouldn't
be able to hear Taylor sing.
Soon after, Jorja's twin sister Choloe launched an online campaign
called #HelpJorjaMeetTaylorSwiftSydney, and it caught the attention
of DJs at Sydney radio station Nova 96.9, who helped set up a
meet-and-greet with Taylor before they attended the concert.
After meeting her idol, Jorja told the Maitland Mercury, "She was
very, very amazing and very pretty. I didn't expect her to be as
tall as she was... It was very, very fun, we danced all night."
"Taylor Swift, she is my idol," Jorja added. "She does get a lot of
people who say she's bad, but she keeps on going."
