Taylor Swift cooks with culinary idol Ina Garten
Country star Taylor Swift has picked up a few new recipes from her culinary idol Ina Garten after enjoying a special lunch date with her for the Food Network Magazine.
The Love Story hitmaker, a keen baker who owns all of the TV chef's recipe books, was recently invited to join Garten at her home in The Hamptons, New York for the publication's first-ever Music Issue.
The singer, who was accompanied by her mother Andrea Finlay and
brother Austin Swift, was served freshly-baked date bread upon her
arrival, before the Barefoot Contessa show host taught the 24 year
old how to make a mustard-roasted fish and decorate a Pavlova
meringue dessert with whipped cream.
Garten also served Swift her first whiskey sour drink as they
bonded over their shared frustration for guests who refuse to
eat.
The blonde beauty revealed, "I'll cook for these boys, and they'll
be like, 'I'm on a diet'. I'm like, 'I can't hang out with
you.'"
The stars ended their lunch meeting by forgoing plates and digging
straight into the Pavlova, with Garten quipping, "I don't always
eat it this way!"
Swift also invited Garten to visit her new Manhattan apartment and
attend one of her future concerts.
Swift isn't the only celebrity to take part in the July/August (14)
Music issue - Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan teamed up
with chef Jeff Mauro, rapper Ja Rule cooked with Geoffrey Zakarian
and rocker Sammy Hagar took over the kitchen with Michael
Symon.
