Taylor Swift bathed in $10 million worth of diamonds for new music video
Taylor Swift's glistening bathtub in her new Look What You Made Me Do music video was filled with $10 million worth of Neil Lane diamonds.
The iconic jeweller loaned the pop star gemstones from his own personal vault for the shoot, and admits he was thrilled to be part of the record-breaking promo.
“I had to go to the vault for this one," Neil tells Hollywood Life. "They (producers) wanted an over-the-top, glamorous look so we gave them unprecedented access to my collection. And WOW what an amazing turnout, diamonds have never looked better!”
In addition to bathing in diamonds, Taylor was adorned in all sorts of expensive jewelry, including expensive necklaces, earrings and rings.
"This set up was completely over the top," an insider notes. "It’s tons and tons of carats of diamonds."
After Taylor's stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer "literally cleaned out" the Neil Lane store he visited, forcing the jeweller to seek more supplies from the vault, producers were faced with the added challenge of keeping all the diamonds safe from thieves.
A source informs PageSix an "insane" amount of security was hired for the music video's shoot in response to safety concerns.
Meanwhile, it appears Taylor's intense investment in her comeback is paying off.
The superstar's promo for Look What You Made Me Do, the first single off her new album Reputation, has broken records with its dazzling visuals, topping Korean pop star PSY to claim the title of most-watched video on YouTube in the first 24 hours of release. Taylor's Look What You Made Me Do was watched by fans 43.2 million times in its first day on the website, while PSY's video for his 2013 tune Gentleman previously held the record with 36 million views.
Taylor also broke Adele's first-day views record on Vevo.
