Taylor Swift awestruck by sea of fans at shows
Taylor Swift is often so overwhelmed by her massive concert audiences she spends much of her set just staring at her fans.
The singer has to pinch herself onstage every night when she walks out to a sea of people who have paid to see her perform and she always takes time during the show to take in signs they wave and homemade T-shirts they wear.
Swift admits she really got lost in the moment during a recent show
in Dallas, Texas when she performed for a sell-out 55,000
crowd.
Appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, she recalls, "That was a big
room... For a big portion of the show I do stand there and just
stare at the audience.
"You just look around and you're like, 'I can't believe you guys
are all here; this is your Saturday night; you could be doing
anything with your Saturday night, and you decided to come and,
like, jump up and down with 55,000 other people."
And Swift admits she's not always present onstage - she
occasionally drifts off and starts thinking about other things
mid-song.
She explains, "I'll be like, 'Oh my God, cats are so cute; I'd love
a cat. Maybe I should get a cat. Can they travel on planes...? Some
cats like to swim. That's cool.' And then I'm like, 'I'm onstage
right now!'"
