Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris 'more friends than lovers'
Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris were "more friends than lovers", according to reports.
News emerged on Wednesday (01Jun16) that the couple had ended their romance after 15 months together. While neither Taylor nor Calvin, 32, have commented on the claims as yet, further allegations about the reasons behind their split have been revealed, with an insider telling E! News the pair's busy careers meant their relationship had grown platonic.
"They were just not very compatible in different areas in their
relationship. The touring and traveling didn't help. It seemed like
they were more friends than lovers," the source said.
It was Calvin, real name Adam Wiles, who is said to have made the
decision to end the relationship. But this is a choice he didn't
come to easily, the insider added.
"Adam really liked Taylor, she was not the type of girl he ever
dates and he liked that. He liked how innocent Taylor was and that
she had a good caring heart. Taylor's heart was more in it then he
was. He started to lose interest over the past few months, but
really tried to not just break up," the source continued.
The split is said to have occurred last week (ends29May16), and
Taylor has apparently remained with friends and family in her
native Nashville since. However, an insider close to the
26-year-old singer admitted she has accepted the end of the romance
and isn't interested in reconciliation.
"Taylor was really disappointed in Calvin and felt like he wasn't
there for her," the source said. "The relationship wasn't
progressing the way she wanted it to. She felt like he wasn't
taking it seriously enough and wouldn't come through for her when
she needed him most. She felt down and like her needs weren't being
met. She doesn't want to get back together."
Taylor and Calvin began dating last year (15) after being
introduced by their mutual friend Ellie Goulding.
