Taraji P. Henson thrilled to reconnect with homecoming queen

Actress Taraji P. Henson had a blast from the past during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday (13Oct15) when she picked out the school pal who crowned her homecoming queen when they were both teenagers from a video wall.

The Empire star was asked to pick a person from her past from a gallery of six people, and after choosing a guy who had no links to the star, she chose Vanessa Motley-Fulford who preceded the actress as queen at Oxon Hill High School in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

Motley-Fulford revealed the Henson she knew was nothing like her ferocious yet beloved TV character Cookie Lyon, stating, "I always thought she was very sweet and quiet and she was always smiling."
