Tara Reid: 'I can't believe I beat Beyonce for Josie & the Pussycats role'

Tara Reid can't believe she beat out Beyonce for a role in cult movie Josie & The Pussycats.

The American Pie star discovered producers were considering the young Destiny's Child singer for a part in the 2001 musical movie when she met up with her castmates and directors for a screening reunion in Los Angeles earlier this week (26Sep17) - and she's still shocked by the news.

"I had no clue until we were doing the panel (chat with fans)," Tara tells TMZ. "No one ever told me that Beyonce auditioned for the role."

And she reveals she has since discovered there was another star in the mix too: "They said Halle Berry (auditioned) as well."

Josie co-writers and directors Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont told Billboard earlier this week that Beyonce auditioned for the role Tara ultimately won.
