Tara Palmer-Tomkinson arrested over airport dispute

British socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was arrested at London's Heathrow Airport over the weekend (20-21Dec14) after allegedly flying into a rage when she was denied entry to a first-class lounge.

The 42 year old was due to fly to Switzerland on Saturday afternoon (20Dec14) ahead of her 43rd birthday celebrations on 23 December (14), but was detained by a number of police officers for allegedly screaming and yelling at airport staff.

A source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "She had completely lost all control and was screaming at officers. They had no choice but to arrest her for her own and everyone else's safety."

Pictures obtained by the publication show Palmer-Tomkinson being handcuffed. She was taken to a police station and accepted a caution for a public order offense.

The socialite tells the newspaper she suffered a panic attack, saying, "I wasn't drunk, there was no disorderly. I was cautioned, I saw a doctor, they were nice to me."

She flew to Switzerland on Sunday night (21Dec14).
