Take That follow Taylor Swift by ditching Spotify

Written by . Published: November 28 2014

British pop group Take That have followed Taylor Swift's lead by breaking away from music streaming service Spotify.

The Never Forget hitmakers have withheld their new album, III, from Spotify until January (14), giving the streaming rights to rival web service Google Play Music instead.

The news comes just weeks after Swift struck her latest record, 1989, from the service, and removed the rest of her back catalog as part of a dispute over the site's artist payment system.

Take That's previous albums will reportedly remain on Spotify, and III, which is released in the U.K. on Monday (01Dec14), will be shared with Spotify users next year (15), although Google Play Music subscribers will have access to extra new songs.
