T-Pain: 'Pattinson engagement story was an April Fools' Day joke'

The media always falls for at least one celebrity April Fools' Day prank - and this year (15) it was rapper T-Pain who stumped the press with a "slip up" in a Vulture.com interview about Robert Pattinson and Fka Twigs' alleged engagement.

T-Pain left reporter Dee Lockett stunned when he told her his friend had secretly accepted the Twilight star's proposal, and she ran with the gag, sparking a media frenzy on Wednesday (01Apr15).

The rapper confessed he was struggling to secure studio time with FKA Twigs, stating, "We met in the studio. Her music's changed a lot since then. But she's on tour so much, and anytime I call her, she's in a different place. And she's engaged now, so that's about to be a whole other thing... to ol' Patty (Pattinson). I don't know if she wanted anybody to know that..."

But hours after the engagement gossip became big news, T-Pain revealed it was just a joke.

He took to his Instagram account and wrote: "Added a little #AprilFools to my interview with Vulture Magazine today. Check it out!!!!" He also posted a photo of two engagement rings.
