Sylvester Stallone thrilled about daughters being given Golden Globes honor
Sylvester Stallone has praised "incredibly gracious" awards show bosses for naming his three daughters Miss Golden Globe 2017.
The Rocky star's daughters Sophia, 20, Sistine, 18, and Scarlet Stallone,14, were confirmed for the Miss Golden Globe honor by the ceremony organizers, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), at a Golden Globes event on Thursday (10Nov16).
It is the first time three people have shared the role, which
involves handing out statuettes, and Sylvester admits he has taken
the HFPA's decision seriously as he knows it's a big opportunity
for his girls.
"I didn't take it lightly because I know that it hadn't been done
before, and I thought it was incredibly gracious of the Golden
Globes to present this opportunity," he told ETOnline. "I said,
'Girls don't take this lightly, because this has never happened
before,' and they're very appreciative."
He also said his wife Jennifer Flavin deserves all the credit for
doing such a good job raising his daughters, adding, "I'm just
along for the ride."
"It's such a cool opportunity, because our whole lives we’ve been
in the shadows of (our parents) at all red carpet events since we
were little," said Sistine of the honor. "Now that it's about us
for once it's such a cool opportunity to be (seen by viewers from)
all over the world. It’s just amazing!"
Sophia and Sistine have both decided not to follow in their
father's footsteps with an acting career, with model Sistine saying
the actor's life isn't for her while Sophia likes working behind
the scenes. Scarlet hasn't yet figured out which career she
wants.
The Stallone girls will follow the likes of Jamie Foxx's daughter
Corinne and Kelsey Grammar's Greer when they take part in the
Golden Globes ceremony on 8 January (17). It will be hosted by talk
show host Jimmy Fallon at The Beverly Hilton hotel in
California.
