Superstar DJs to play Las Vegas benefit concert
DJs Zedd, Tiesto, Kaskade, and Steve Aoki are to play a Las Vegas benefit concert for the victims of the recent massacre in the city.
Earlier this month (Oct17), gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire on crowds at the Route 91 Harvest music festival, killing 58 people and injuring more than 500.
The DJs will perform at Las Vegas' Omnia nightclub on 7 November (17) to raise money for a fund helping victims of the attack and their families.
Dutch DJ Tiesto, real name Tijs Michiel Verwest, has also donated $200,000 to a GoFundMe campaign launched by bosses at the nightclub.
In a statement to Billboard magazine he said, "Las Vegas has become like a home to me. It's an incredible city filled with great people and after last week's tragedy, I immediately wanted to help in supporting the victims, their families, and the amazing first responders."
All proceeds from the club night, where Lil Jon and NGHTMRE will also perform, and the GoFundMe campaign will be donated to the Las Vegas Victims Fund.
Nick McCabe, the chief executive of Omnia owners Hakkasan Group, added, "We are all still feeling shock and sadness following last week's attack, and of course the victims, their families and all of those impacted are at the forefront of our thoughts.
"With this event we hope that our company, partners and friends can not only give back to the community, but also show that we're united, and stand together in the face of this tragedy."
