Stars support beleaguered Emma Watson
Simon Pegg, Kate Bosworth and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have thrown their support behind embattled actress Emma Watson after hackers threatened to leak nude pictures of her just days after her hard-hitting pro-feminism speech.
The Harry Potter star hit headlines after addressing United Nations (U.N.) delegates in New York on Saturday (20Sep14) in her role as a Goodwill Ambassador to promote the organisation's HeForShe campaign.
Hackers targeted the actress a day after her gender equality speech
and threatened to release nude pictures of her on Friday (26Sep14)
as part of the ongoing leaks which have affected stars across
Hollywood.
Watson has now received a wave of celebrity support with numerous
stars throwing their weight behind the campaign.
Fellow actress Kate Bosworth sent Watson a message on Tuesday
(23Sep14) calling her speech "powerful" while British star Pegg
wrote, "Husband to a wife, father to a daughter, son to a mother.
You bet I'm on board, @EmWatson! #heforshe."
James Van Der Beek writes, "Guys, @EmWatson really got it right.
Gender equality isn't about taking a side, it's about human dignity
for all. It's evolution #HeForShe (sic)."
She has also received support from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who
praised her for tackling the subject of feminism, while country
singer Jenifer Nettles wrote, "Way to go @EmWatson! It's not us
against them'! We're all in this together!
#feminismispositiveforall (sic)."
Sophia Bush, Carly Rae Jepsen, Camilla Belle, Jessie Ware, Paloma
Faith, Ellie Goulding and Freida Pinto are among the other female
stars who have also thrown their support behind Watson.
