Olivia Wilde, Lil Wayne and Rob Lowe are among the stars who have reached out to rising university basketball player Kevin Ware after he broke his right leg during a game on Sunday (31Mar13).

The Louisville Cardinals star landed awkwardly during his team's match with North Carolina's Duke University side Duke Blue Devils in Indianapolis, Indiana, and medics rushed to his aid after seeing bone protruding through his skin.

Ware was stretchered off the court while his teammates struggled to keep their composure, and several famous faces took to their Twitter.com pages to share their anguish after watching the drama unfold on TV.

In a post on her page, Wilde wrote, "Kevin Ware, I am sending you all my super hero healing powers. Holy s**t", while Lil Wayne added, "May God be with Kevin Ware and his family. Ya (you're) in my prayers bro (brother)."

Glee star Amber Riley wrote, "I have never seen anything like that during a game. I teared up", Nick Lachey declared, "That was one of the toughest things I've ever had to watch", while Lowe simply stated, "Praying for this kid."

Actress Elizabeth Banks recalled a similar injury she sustained, and told her followers, "Heart breaking for the Louisville player who just broke his leg. I had the same injury as a teenager sliding into 3rd base", while country star Chely Wright ‏added, "I am crying watching this Louisville player's injury. This is really sad."

The Louisville Cardinals went on to win the match with a score of 85 to 63.
