Stars including Oprah Winfrey and Missy Elliott have flooded social media to pay tribute to Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, who died on Sunday (26Jul15), nearly six months after a near-drowning incident at her Georgia home.

The only daughter of Whitney and ex-husband Bobby Brown had been in a medically-induced coma since she was found unresponsive and face down in a bathtub at the Roswell home she shared with partner Nick Gordon on 31 January (15).

On Sunday, the 22 year old's family decided to take her off life support, as she was surrounded by her loved ones at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia.

Winfrey took to Twitter.com shortly after the news of Bobbi Kristina's death broke, and wrote, "Peace at Last! #BobbiKristina", while hip-hop star Elliott wrote, "My heart is truly heavy. May u rest in peace with your mommy #BobbiKristina sending prayers 2 the Brown/Houston family."

Sean 'Diddy' Combs adds, "Rest in peace #BobbiKristina" and R&B star Ciara posts on Instagram.com, "Lost For Words About The Life Story Of Whitney and Her Daughter Bobbi Kristina. Praying For The Houston and Brown Family. #RestInPeaceBobbiKristina"

Michael Jackson's sister La Toya writes, "Sooo Sad! My heart goes out to #BobbiKristina the Brown & Houston family and friend! May you #RIPBobbiKristina We Will Always Love You!"

Other stars who took to social media to share their condolences include Taraji P. Henson, director Ava DuVernay, Vivica A. Fox, Rosie O'Donnell, MC Hammer, Boy George, Russell Simmons and Erykah Badu.

Meanwhile, Houston's official Facebook page was also updated to share the sad news. The post reads: "It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully. The family thanks everyone for the ir loving thoughts and prayers.

"As Bobbi Kristina would say: "The wind is behind me and the sun is in my face."

Bobbi Kristina was moved from Atlanta's Emory University Hospital to longterm rehabilitation facility DeKalb Medical Center in March (15). Last month (Jun15), her family revealed she had been moved into hospice care in Duluth.

Her death comes just weeks after Bobby and his wife Alicia Etheridge welcomed their second child, a daughter, on 12 July (15), and a little over three years after Whitney died on 12 February, 2012.
