Sofia Vergara is world's highest-paid actress for a fifth year in a row
Sofia Vergara has topped Forbes magazine's World's Highest-Paid TV Actresses poll for a fifth successive year.
The 44-year-old Modern Family star took top honours when the new list was unveiled on Wednesday (14Sep16).
She ranks number one after earning an estimated $43 million (£32.6
million) in the past year.
According to Forbes bosses, that's more than any male actor on TV
too.
Sofia, who wed TV and movie hunk Joe Manganiello last year (15),
made much of her whopping fortune from endorsements from companies
like Head & Shoulders and CoverGirl.
The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco, who tied with Vergara for the
number one spot a year ago, comes in at two on the new Forbes list
with a $24.5 million (£18.6 million) haul from the past year.
She has the biggest TV deal out of any other actress, making $1
million (£760,000) per episode of her hit comedy, but that could
all change in 2017 amid reports suggesting the upcoming 10th season
of The Big Bang Theory could be the last.
Kaley was coy when asked if there would be an 11th season of the
show during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week
(beg12Sep16).
"That's a very expensive question... for a lot of people," she
said, adding, "Ten seasons; that's a lot of hair, that's a lot
denim sizes... (It's) all my 20s. I went from, like, hot to, like,
30! I was 21 when I started the show."
Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project) comes in at three, while Mariska
Hargitay (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), and Ellen Pompeo
(Grey's Anatomy) tie for the number four spot on the new Forbes
rich list.
