Soccer champ Carli Lloyd weds

U.S. women's soccer superstar Carli Lloyd has tied the knot on a beach in Mexico.

The World Cup winner and double Olympic gold medalist wed her high school sweetheart, professional golfer Brian Hollins, in Puerto Morelos last week (04Nov16).

The bride wore a strapless ivory dress by Matthew Christopher, while her beau opted for a light grey suit and pink tie.

"This was the best day of our lives," Carli, 34, gushed to wedding website The Knot. "Even after 16 years of being together, I fell more in love with him on our wedding day. I love the person he is - the person he's become."

The couple became engaged in January, 2013, but chose to postpone a wedding until after the 2016 Rio Olympics, where Carli and her teammates lost to Sweden in the quarter-finals of the soccer competition.
