Sky Ferreira to make history on the front of Playboy

Singer and actress Sky Ferreira will make history on the cover of new-look men's magazine Playboy next month (Oct16).

The I Blame Myself hitmaker has chosen to share the seductive shoot for her new album Masochism with the publication's editors, making her the first model to direct her own shoot for the magazine, which until earlier this year (16) featured titillating shots of all-nude women.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Ferreira revealed her best friend Sandy Kim took the pictures and boasted about becoming "the first (Playboy) bunny ever to be a creative collaborator & creative/art direct".

"I produced & directed all of the content," she wrote. "It is the first introduction to #Masochism (visually)."

Sky also assured fans that none of the pictures that will appear on the cover or inside Playboy were "edited or retouched".

Her interview to accompany the photos was conducted by Oscar winner Bruce Dern, who she met while promoting animated film Up on Poppy Hill, in which they both starred.
