Skrillex pulled over for noise violation
Dance music star Skrillex found himself in police handcuffs on Wednesday (19Apr17) after he was pulled over for blasting his new music too loudly.
The DJ was cruising along the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles in his luxury Tesla sportscar, giving his new demos a spin, when cops took offense at the din and stopped him for questioning.
He failed to produce any form of identification, was asked to step out of the car, and detained on the sidewalk.
Skrillex, real name Sonny Moore, was subsequently cited for a noise violation and driving without proper ID, and was allowed to walk free, reports TMZ.com.
He later took to Twitter to comment on the incident, jokingly blaming Tesla boss Elon Musk for creating a car with such a good sound system.
"Leave it to me to play my music 'too loud'," he wrote. "these new demos are (fire) tho (sic) @elonmusk".
He added, "@elonmusk ur (sic) system in the tesla model x is just too (hot)".
Skrillex also made it clear he hadn't been taken into custody, stating, "i didn't get arrested, just cuffed".
